Remembering Ligeti
Remembering Ligeti is a unique and exciting event celebrating the music and life of one of the most important composers of the 20th and 21st centuries - György Ligeti. The festival, which takes place in Liberty Hall and the National Concert Hall, features a host of internationally renowned artists and groups from Ireland and abroad. The festival will also present eight major academic papers on Ligeti’s music given by leading experts on the Hungarian composer. Three extraordinary films by Stanley Kubrick which feature the music of Ligeti will also be shown during the festival.
The festival runs from November 9th - 11th 2007.
Artists
Remembering Ligeti features the internationally renowned Arditti Quartet, Ligeti Winds from Ireland, leading British pianist Ian Pace, Dublin-based British cellist William Butt, the renowned horn player Roger Montgomery, accordion virtuoso Dermot Dunne, the Arditti Quartet’s violist Ralf Ehlers and leading Irish harpsichordist David Adams.
